Welcome to Bret Harte Elementary School, the home of the Bear Huggers. Located in the middle of California’s Central Valley, Bret Harte serves preschool through first grade students in the Corcoran Joint Unified School District of Kings County.

Welcome to Bret Harte Elementary, home of the Bear Huggers!

We are excited to provide your student with an educational experience that supports the whole child. We strive to create a space that encourages students to think critically and engage in learning that is challenging. Our goal is to prepare young citizens who can interact meaningfully with their peers, while learning about the world around them.
